How do I join Choice Privileges?

Is there a cost to join the Choice Privileges program?
The Choice Privileges program is completely free and available to residents of the U.S., U.S.  Territories, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, Central America, Australasia and the Caribbean. Including: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Fiji. Excluding: Belarus, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Liberia, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.

How long should I wait to receive my Choice Privileges membership card after enrolling?
You will receive your Choice Privileges membership number immediately after applying, but the membership card will not arrive until 4-6 weeks later.

Are there blackout dates for reward nights?
There are no blackout dates for reward nights. The room preference and hotel of your choice is subject to availability.

Can I get credit toward my Choice Privileges membership when I make a reservation online?
Yes, when checking availability for a hotel online, please enter your Choice Privileges membership number in the space provided. To ensure you are credited the appropriate points, please present your Choice Privileges card upon check-in at the hotel.

If I use my discount code when making a reservation, does my Choice Privileges number still apply to the reservation?
Yes, both can be used in conjunction with one another.

How can members get a new membership card?
Members can always print out a new membership card from their online profile.  Or the member can call the Choice Service Center and they will request a new card.

Account Information
How can I check my Choice Privileges account balance?
Once you have created an online profile and are signed in, your account balance will appear towards the top of the page. To view your most recent stays, click on the "Stay Activity" link on the left.

Where can I view my Choice Privileges statements?
You can view your Choice Privileges statements anytime by accessing your online profile on ChoiceHotels.com. Once you sign into your profile, click on the "Stay Activity" link in the left navigation, then use the drop down box to select the statement period you wish to view and click the "Go" button.

How long does it take for Choice Privileges points to post to my account after a stay?
Choice Privileges points from a stay booked at an eligible rate will post within 72 hours of the check-out date. Allow 20 days after checking out of hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Central America, Australasia, and the Caribbean for points to post to your account.

What if it has been 72 hours and my stay has not posted?
If the check out date was more than 72 hours ago in the U.S. and Canada, please sign into your online profile click on the "Report Missing Stay" link in the right navigation and fill out the Report a Missing Stay form or contact the Choice Service Center. Allow 20 days after checking out of hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Central America, Australasia, and the Caribbean for points to post to your account.

What if I have forgotten my membership number?
You can call the Choice Service Center, or email us to retrieve your Choice Privileges member number.

Earning
Do I need to make a reservation online to earn points or miles for my stay?
Reservations are always recommended, but you do not need one in order to earn points for a stay. Simply tell the front desk clerk you would like to add your frequent traveler number to your stay, and your points will be credited to you. You are required, however, to make a reservation when redeeming a free night.

Will I get Choice Privileges points for a stay that I pay for with a gift card?
Yes, you will receive points for a stay that you paid for with a gift card as long as the room rate you paid was a point eligible rate and you supply your Choice Privileges number at check-in.

How can I book a reservation using my Choice Privileges points?
You can book your reward night(s) by contacting the Choice Service Center, or by logging into your online profile on ChoiceHotels.com.

Can I redeem my points for a gas card?
Yes, you can redeem 16,000 Choice Privileges points for a gas card from one of 7 different gas stations located nationwide. Simply login to your online profile, redeem your points, and you will receive the gas card within 14 business days.
