Coronado Beach - San Diego

Coronado Beach Hotels in San Diego, CA
Offering the widest expanse of sand of any beach in San Diego County, Coronado Beach has been a favorite of locals, families and tourists for well over a century. The white, soft and pillowy sand offers a haven for swimming, surfing, sailing, bodyboarding, sand sculpting, kite flying, tide pool exploration, whale watching, fishing and even sleeping. Volleyball courts and fire rings are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There’s even an area for four-legged friends to frolic off-leash.

The beach is the pride and joy of Coronado, called “the island” by many locals. It’s really a peninsula connected to the mainland by a neck of land named the Silver Strand. The beach itself is generally divided into three parts – the first is North Beach, known for great surf and its pet-friendly attitude. The second, Central Beach, can be the most crowded, but it’s also considered the most romantic. The Shores is the third portion, marked by sunny southwesterly exposure that enables longboarding and boogieboarding all year long.
