| Things To Do: Buddhist Spring FestivalNov 2010 (annual)The Tibetan Buddhist Society of Australia hosts an annual Buddhist Spring Festival at its ten-acre Peaceful Land of Joy Meditation Centre just outside Melbourne. The event is open to all who want to learn more about meditation and Buddhist traditions. Tibetan, Thai, Zen and Buddhist teachers lead meditation sessions and give talks on love, karma, compassion and enlightenment. With over 2000 people expected to take part in the Spring Festival, the calm and serenity is bound to spread to everyone, most of all during the popular prayer ceremony for world peace.
Visitors can also tour the site's temple, which was blessed by the Dalai Lama in 2002, as well as the landscaped gardens with Californian redwoods, olive trees and calming lakes. |
