• Best Internet Rate Guarantee
  • Why would the laws of Maryland apply to disputes with this program?

    • Our corporate offices where we operate are located in Maryland. We are subject to the laws under which we operate.

  • Why will my Best Internet Rate Guarantee be null and void if I change my reservation?

    • Because we have to verify that the lower rate is available for the same dates and room type, changing the reservation will modify that information and we would no longer be able to guarantee the information is the same.

  • Why do I have to submit my claim at least 72 hours prior to my date of arrival?

    • When we approve an Internet rate, we need sufficient time to inform our hotel owners of the adjusted rate.

  • Why do you require a claim to be submitted within 24 hours after booking the reservation?

    • The rates on the competing web sites change often. In order to help us find the lower rate that you have submitted from a competing web site, we require the claim be submitted within 24 hours of making the reservation.

  • Why do I have to make my reservation on choicehotels.com or one of the brand web sites?

    • In order to keep the process simple and efficient, the reservation must be made online.

  • What is an opaque or auction site and why aren’t they eligible for the guarantee?

    • An opaque web site is one that is not clear about the booking. These web sites will often not include the name of the hotel or the type of room you are reserving. This also includes a web site does not immediately confirm a reservation at the time of submission. These web sites are not eligible for the guarantee because we cannot confirm that the reservation will be for the same hotel, same room type, or that the reservation would be able to be processed through that web site.

      An auction web site is one in which you “bid” or “negotiate” the rates with the web site in order to lower the rates. These web sites are not eligible for the guarantee because we cannot confirm that the lower rate is publicly available for anyone to reserve.
  • My claim was approved, but I am still being charged the extra person charges on the reservation. The other web site didn’t say they had extra person charges. Why am I still being charged for them?

    • The Best Internet Rate Guarantee matches the room rate, only. Most third party web sites state in their terms and conditions that the room rate is for dual occupancy, only. This means that the rate they are providing is for two people in the room; extra person charges would still apply at the hotel. If the competing web site you found states that the room rate includes the extra person charges, let us know.

  • How can I be sure that it is the same room type?

    • If you have reserved the same size and number of beds and the amenities match, it is probably the same room type.

  • Are there any hotels that are not eligible for the Best Internet Rate Guarantee?

    • Currently all Choice Hotels participate in the Best Internet Rate Guarantee program. Your claim will not be denied the guarantee because of the hotel chain or its location.

  • Why don’t negotiated rates qualify if they are still lower than the rates I found at www.choicehotels.com?

    • Negotiated and membership rates do not qualify because those rates are not available to everyone.

  • What is a publicly available, viewable, and bookable rate?

    • A publicly available rate is any rate found on a web site that does not require a membership/account or have any other requirement (including but not limited to age, government employment, and military personnel) that makes it unavailable to any person visiting the web site.

       
  • I found a lower rate on a website but it can't be reserved online; I have to call their number to make the reservation. Does this website qualify?

    • A website that does not allow you to make the reservation on the Internet would not qualify for the Best Internet Rate Guarantee.  The website must allow you to reserve online in order to qualify.

    • Is there a cost to join the Choice Privileges program?

      • The Choice Privileges program is completely free and available to residents of the U.S., U.S.  Territories, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Australasia (including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Fiji).

    • If I am a member of a sports organization that Choice has a partnership with and I use my member discount code when making a reservation, does my Choice Privileges number still apply to the reservation?

      • Yes, both can be used in conjunction with one another.

    • Are there blackout dates for reward nights?

      • There are no blackout dates for reward nights. The room preference and hotel of your choice is subject to availability.

    • How long should I wait to receive my Choice Privileges membership card after enrolling?

      • You will receive your Choice Privileges membership number immediately after applying, but the membership card will not arrive until 4-6 weeks later.

    • How do I join Choice Privileges?

      • Click here to fill out an application to enroll in the Choice Privileges program.

    • Can I get credit toward my Choice Privileges membership when I make a reservation online?

      • Yes, when checking availability for a hotel online, please enter your Choice Privileges membership number in the space provided. To ensure you are credited the appropriate points, please present your Choice Privileges card upon check-in at the hotel.

    • Can I check my Choice Privileges point balance online?

      • Yes, log into your online profile or create an online profile to check your account balance online. Or call or e-mail us for account information.

    • What if I have forgotten my membership number?

      • You can call the Choice Service Center, or email us to retrieve your Choice Privileges member number.

    • What if it has been 72 hours and my stay has not posted?

      • If the check out date was more than 72 hours ago in the U.S. and Canada, please sign into your online profile, click on the "Report Missing Stay" link in the right navigation and fill out the Report a Missing Stay form or contact the Choice Service Center. Allow 20 days after checking out of hotels in Europe, Mexico, Australasia, and the Caribbean for points to post to your account.

    • Where do I find how many stays I completed during a promotion?

      • You can view your stay history in your online profile, along with your account information, room preferences, and reservation history. To create an online profile, please click here.

    • Where can I view my Choice Privileges statements?

      • You can view your Choice Privileges statements anytime by accessing your online profile on choicehotels.com. Once you sign into your profile, click on the "Stay Activity" link in the left navigation, then use the drop down box to select the statement period you wish to view and click the "Go" button.

    • How can I check my Choice Privileges account balance?

      • Please follow these steps: Create an Online Profile --> Sign in --> Once you sign into your Online Profile, your account balance will appear towards the top of the page.  To view your most recent stays, click on the "Stay Activity" link on the left.

    • How long does it take for Choice Privileges points to post to my account after a stay?

      • Choice Privileges points from a stay booked at an eligible rate will post within 72 hours of the check-out date.  Allow 20 days after checking out of hotels in Europe, Mexico, Australasia and the Caribbean for points to post to your account.

         

         

         

    • I completed a stay, but I don't see it listed in my Choice Privileges activity. How can I report a missing stay?

      • Logon to your profile and complete the Report a Missing Stay form.

    • How many stay receipts (eFolios) can I view in my online account?

      • Members can view their last 5 stay receipts in their online account.
        

    • How can I view my hotel stay receipts (eFolio) online?

      •  

        Choice Privileges members can log into their online account, click on the "Stay Activity" link in the left navigation and view their stay receipts in the “My Most Recent Stays” section.
    • Why can’t I view my stay history when I log into my account?

      • A small number of hotels are not linked to our computer network. Because of that, we are unable to extract that information and input it into your online account.  You can obtain information regarding your hotel stay by calling the hotel directly. 

    • How can members get a new membership card?

      • Members can always print out a new membership card from their online profile.  Or the member can call the Choice Service Center and they will request a new card.

    • How many points will I earn for my Choice Privileges account from a stay with this guarantee?

      •  The number of points you earn for your Choice Privileges membership will still be on the room rate actually paid. You will earn 10 points per every whole dollar spent at the Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, and Ascend hotels. You will earn 5 points per every whole dollar spent at the Suburban, Econo Lodge, Mainstay Suites, and Rodeway Inn hotels.

    • Can I earn points for stays in Hawaii?

      • Yes, you can now earn points for stays at Choice Hotels in Hawaii.

    • Do I need to make a reservation online to earn points or miles for my stay?

      • Reservations are always recommended, but you do not need one in order to earn points for a stay. Simply tell the front desk clerk you would like to add your frequent traveler number to your stay, and your points will be credited to you. You are required, however, to make a reservation when redeeming a free night.

    • Will I get Choice Privileges® points for a stay that I pay for with a gift card?

      • Yes, you will receive points for a stay that you paid for with a gift card as long as the room rate you paid was a point eligible rate and you supply your Choice Privileges number at check-in.

    • Are new Choice Privileges members eligible for the “1+1=FREE” promotion when they enroll in Choice Privileges at a hotel?

      • Yes, a new enrollment is eligible for the promotion, when the enrollment occurs during a qualifying stay, regardless of how the stay was booked.

    • Where can I find a list of hotels offering reward nights at the 8,000 point level?

    • How do I redeem the free night?

      • You can redeem your points for a free night ONLY through your online profile at choicehotels.com or by calling Choice Privileges Reservations at 800-521-2121.

    • When will the bonus points post to my account?

      • After every second qualifying stay, allow 72 hours from check-out for the bonus points to post to the Choice Privileges account.

    • How many bonus points will I receive for the “1+1=FREE” promotion?

      • Bonus points will be added to the points earned from 2 qualifying stays to reach the 8,000 point reward level.  The free night is based on an 8,000 point Choice Privileges reward night level.

    • What if I earned the free night point bonus from 2 stays at a hotel that requires more than 8,000 points for a free night?

      • The promotion gives you enough bonus points for a free night at more than 1,500 Choice Hotels locations.  If you would like to redeem points for a location requiring more than 8,000 points, you will need to continue to collect points for a future free stay at that location.

    • Is there a booking requirement for Elite Diamond and Elite Platinum Choice Privileges members?

      • Elite Diamond and Elite Platinum members MUST register for the promotion at choicehotels.com to be eligible to book qualifying stays through any channel, including hotel direct. If they do not register, stays must be booked at choicehotels.com or by calling 800-4CHOICE. Elite Diamond and Elite Platinum members who register will also be entered into a sweepstakes. 

    • Is there a booking requirement to be eligible for the “1+1=FREE” promotion?

      • Yes, stays must be booked at choicehotels.com or 800-4CHOICE. 

    • Can any guest earn the free night?

      • Choice Privileges members with an address in the U.S., Canada, select countries in Latin America and Europe can qualify for the "1+1=FREE" promotion.

    • Which Choice brands are included in the “1+1=FREE” promotion?

      • All Choice brands are included in the promotion: Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Extended Stay, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn and Ascend Collection.

    • How many times can the “1+1=FREE” promotion be earned?

      • You can receive the bonus an unlimited number of times for qualifying stays during the promotion.

    • Is the “1+1=FREE” promotion based on stays or nights?

      • The “1+1=FREE” promotion is based on stays.  You will have to stay 2 separate times to be eligible for this promotion.

    • How many nights do I have to stay to qualify for the “1+1=FREE” promotion?

      • You need to stay at least one night, two separate times to earn enough bonus points for a free night on a future stay.

    • How is a "Stay" defined?

      • A "stay" is defined as any number of consecutive nights at one hotel, regardless of check-ins and check-outs.

    • Can I stay 2 nights and earn a free night?

      • No, you need to complete 2 separate qualifying stays to earn enough Choice Privileges points for the free night on a future stay.

    • What are the promotion dates for the “1+1=FREE” promotion?

      • This promotion applies to stays with arrival dates between February 22 and April 30, 2010 at all hotels in the Choice Privileges rewards program.

    • What is Choice’s current promotion?

      • The current offer is “1+1=FREE”: when you stay 2 separate times you earn enough Choice Privileges points to redeem for a free night at more than 1,500 hotels.

      • If you are only a few points away from the reward you would like, you may want to consider purchasing the remaining amount of points to be eligible for that reward. You can do so by clicking here.

    • Can I redeem my points for a gas card?

      • Yes, you can redeem 16,000 Choice Privileges points for a gas card from one of 7 different gas stations located nationwide.  Simply login to your online profile, redeem your points, and you will receive the gas card within 14 business days.

    • Can I redeem Choice Privileges® points for gift cards?

      • Yes, Choice Privileges US and Canadian members can redeem points for gift cards. Australasian members can redeem points for gift vouchers that can be used at hotels in that region (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji).

    • Can I redeem points at luxury hotels and resorts?

      • You do not have to be Choice Privileges members to earn Airline Rewards. However, membership affords your guests all of the on-property benefits Choice Privileges has to offer. So make sure to ask members of these airline programs if you would like to become Choice Privileges members so that they can earn Airline Rewards and enjoy the benefits of membership.

    • Yes, Choice Privileges US and Canadian members can redeem points for gift cards. Australasian members can redeem points for gift vouchers that can be used at hotels in that region (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji).

  • Will I get Choice Privileges® points for a stay that I pay for with a gift card?

    • Yes, you will receive points for a stay that you paid for with a gift card as long as the room rate you paid was a point eligible rate and you supply your Choice Privileges number at check-in.

  • What is the Choice Hotels Gift Card and what can I use it for?

    • It's a card that holds a dollar value and can be used to pay for room accommodations or other goods or services on your hotel bill at over 3,000 participating Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, and MainStay Suites hotels in the United States.

  • Can I redeem my gift card at any Choice Hotels location worldwide?

    • No, currently Choice Hotels Gift Cards can only be redeemed at Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, and MainStay Suites hotels in the U.S.

  • Where can I purchase a Choice Hotels Gift Card?

    • Choice Hotels Gift Cards can be purchased on choicehotels.com or at the front desk of some Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, and MainStay Suites, hotels. Call and check to confirm that a specific hotel sells gift cards before planning to buy a gift card there.  Not all hotels that accept gift cards also sell them.

  • Which Choice Hotels accept the Choice Hotels gift card?

    • Participating Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, and MainStay Suites hotels in the United States will accept the Choice Hotels Gift Card.     • Gift cards sold at hotel properties or on the web at choicehotels.com do not expire. Gift cards distributed through special promotions may carry an expiration date, which will be printed on the cards.

  • What can I buy with a Choice Hotels gift card?

    • Choice Hotels Gift Cards can be used to pay for room nights or other charges that can be found on the guest bill.

  • What if my gift card is damaged, lost or stolen?

    • If you think your gift card is damaged, click on the "Damaged Card Returns" link or send the damaged card to Card Replacement Center, P.O. Box 66284, Chicago, IL 60666-0284 (retain a copy of the card number for your records). Include your name, address and how you received the card (purchase, gift, reward, etc.). Your replacement card will be mailed via First Class Mail within seven business days of submitting your request.

      For lost, stolen or damaged cards, the remaining value may be replaced only if the account number and remaining value on the gift card can be verified.

  • How do I check the balance on my gift card?

    • Click on "View card balance online," call 866-505-9654 or ask the front desk staff at participating Choice Hotels to check the balance for you.

  • Are Choice Hotels Gift Cards reloadable?

    • No. Choice Hotels gift cards cannot be reloaded at this time.

  • When will my gift card order be processed, how long does it take to ship and what are the costs?
    • • Orders submitted after 2pm CST are processed the next business day.
      • Orders placed on Friday or prior to holidays after 2pm CST are processed the following business day.

  • Where can I ship my gift card order?

    • Since prepaid cards must be treated as cash, orders are shipped only to the Billing Address. This policy exists to prevent fraud and to protect your order. For check orders, products are shipped to the address displayed on the check. Gift cards are not currently shipped internationally, to APO/FPO addresses, or to Puerto Rico. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii require UPS 2-day air or overnight shipment.

  • In what denominations are Gift Cards sold?

    • Choice Hotels Gift Cards are available online in denominations of $25, $50, $75, $100, $150, $200, $250 and $300. Gift cards purchased at a participating Choice Hotel can be customized for any amount from $50 to $1000.

  • Can the gift card be used to secure a room reservation?

    • A gift card cannot be used to book a room reservation or to buy additional gift cards. However, it can be used as a form of payment at the hotel.

  • Is the Choice Hotels gift card a credit card?

    • The gift card is not a credit card. It is pre-loaded with funds in US dollars and can be used repeatedly until the balance is zero. You should treat the gift card as you would cash.

  • Can the gift cards be returned or redeemed for cash?

    • Choice Hotels Gift Cards are not returnable and cannot be redeemed for cash (except where required by law).

  • Does the full value of the gift card have to be redeemed at once?

    • If a guest uses a gift card to pay for something of lesser value than is stored on the card, the amount of the purchase will be subtracted and the remaining balance will stay on the card for future use. When you go to use the card again, you may pay with a combination of the balance on the card and another form of payment.

  • Does the Choice Hotels Gift Card expire and are there any associated fees?

    • Cards distributed for promotions may contain an expiration date, if allowed by law. If no date is shown on the card, the card will not expire. Choice Hotels Gift Cards do not contain fees.

  • Do I need to have the gift card with me to redeem it?

    • Yes, you must physically present the gift card to the front desk staff upon check-in and check-out.

  • How do I view hotel amenities?

    • Once you select a hotel from the hotel list, click on the hotel name. This takes you to the hotel ebrochure. Click on the “Services” tab to display complete details.

  • How do I view room amenities?

  • Do you have adjoining rooms?

    • We have two extended stay hotel chains; MainStay Suites and Suburban Extended Stay Hotels. These hotels offer discounted rates for stays 7 nights or longer.

  • Do you accept direct bill?

    • No, only major credit cards or debit cards are accepted to guarantee a reservation.

  • Do you accept debit cards?

    • Yes, all debit cards are accepted at US and international hotels including MasterCard and Visa.

       
  • What credit cards do you accept?

    • We accept all major credit cards at US hotels; including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, Amoco, Carte Blanche and Japan Credit Bureau. Our international hotels only accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

  • What are extra person fees?

    • Some of our hotels charge a fee for children or more than two adults in a room.

  • What is the latest time I can check in?

    • Once you confirm your reservation with a credit card our hotels must hold your room for you until 7am the following morning.

  • Does my hotel have a swimming pool?

    • If a hotel offers a pool you can use the “Select Hotel Features” functionality by clicking on pool. All the hotels that offer a pool will be listed at the top of the page and ”pool” will be bolded. This information can be found on the hotel's ebrochure within the copy on the page or click on the "hotel services" tab.

  • How do I find information on available parking at my hotel?

    • If a hotel offers parking, whether free or with a fee, the information can be found on the hotels ebrochure.  This information will appear somewhere in the copy on their home page.  Look specifically at the “Hotel Details” section or click on the "Hotel Services" tab.

  • What is a continental breakfast?

    • Continental breakfast consists of (1) breakfast pastry (e.g. Danish, donut, muffin, croissant); (1) non-sweet bread (e.g. English muffin, bread, bagel); coffee, tea, orange juice.

  • Does the hotel offer shuttle service or airport shuttle?

    • Some hotels do and some do not. To find this information, search for the location you need then select "Airport Shuttle" from the Amenities drop down .  Hotels with an airport shuttle will be displayed near the top of the page.

       

  • How do I know if my hotel has cribs available?

    • Each hotel sets their own policy on cribs.  If a hotel offers one it will be found on the Availability page for that specific hotel.  You will need to search for a specific location and date plus the number of adults and children should be filled in. Once you click “Check rates” you are given a list of room types that includes what kind of bed is in the room and some amenities. There will also be a drop down box that says “Extra Bed”.   The hotel will list “crib” or “rollaway” depending on what they have available.  Make your choice and click “book this room”.  You can then proceed to reserve the room and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

  • What is a park and fly package?

    • A park and fly package allows you to stay at a home, rent a room and also park your car while you go somewhere else. If a hotel offers this package you would look on Hotels Deals landing page http://www.choicehotels.com/hoteldeals.  You would look for a stay and fly or park and fly package for the state/country you are interested in. 

  • How do I get a receipt for a previous stay?

    • If you made your reservation directly with the hotel you will need to contact the hotel to get a receipt.  If you booked online at choicehotels.com or via our 800 number and you are a Choice Privileges member with a “My Account” page this information will be listed within your Folio.

  • Why do you require my AAA/CAA membership id number?

    • The AAA/CAA rate plan is offered as an exclusive benefit to members of the American Automobile Association (AAA) or Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) and therefore requires membership verification prior to booking. Choice also provides additional rates and offers to traveling guests who are not currently AAA/CAA members.

  • Can I book the AAA/CAA rate if I don’t have my member id number?

    • As of April 2009, Choice Hotels requires guests to include their AAA/CAA member identification number at the time of booking in order to be eligible for the AAA/CAA discount. Members can contact their local AAA office with membership questions, such as how to secure a replacement membership card or how to renew or purchase a new AAA/CAA membership. Please visit AAA.com to find an office near you.

  • My AAA/CAA ID member number appears to be invalid however I entered the number correctly, what do I do now?

      • Confirmation number or the credit card number that you used to guarantee the reservation

  • What is an online profile?

    • An online profile is a personalized profile that stores your name, address, and credit card information in a secure manner. You may use this profile to expedite reservations by signing in to the site with a User Name and Password. Your personalized profile data will pre-fill the reservation form. Any visitor to choicehotels.com may create a profile. Choice Privileges members may also view their point balance and most recent stays online.

  • Why am I having trouble signing in?
    • • You may not have created an online profile yet. Click here to Create a Profile.  All customers, including Choice Privileges members, need to create an online profile to sign in.
      • You may have entered an incorrect User Name or Password. If you have forgotten your User Name or your Password, click here.

  • Why can’t I view my stay history when I log into my account?

    • A small number of hotels are not linked to our computer network. Because of that, we are unable to extract that information and input it into your online account.  You can obtain information regarding your hotel stay by calling the hotel directly. 

  • How can members get a new membership card?

    • Members can always print out a new membership card from their online profile.  Or the member can call the Choice Service Center and they will request a new card.

  • I am a travel agent: do I need an online profile?

    • Yes, Travel agents should continue to log in using their IATA number when visiting the site to book reservations on behalf of their clients. You must enter the IATA number by accessing the "Travel Professionals" tab.

      Travel agents wishing to book their own personal reservations may create a personal profile by clicking here.  Your IATA number may not be used in the creation of this profile. Travel agents may only log in using either their IATA number or sign in to their personalized travel profile at any given time, but may not log into both simultaneously.

  • How can I update my profile information?

    • Select the "Sign In" button from the upper center of any page on the site. Enter your User Name and Password. Once you are signed in, select the "View/Edit Profile" link from link panel on the left-hand side of the page. Make any necessary changes to your profile information, and then click "Submit".

  • How do I search for a hotel, check rates, availability and make a reservation online?
    • 1. Enter a city, attraction, address, airport, zip code or hotel code in the search box at the top of any page on choicehotels.com. Click the Find Hotels button.
      2. From the hotel search results page, click on the hotel name for additional hotel information or Check Rates button to find hotel room rates. Select the hotel name to view the hotel eBrochure, which includes phone number, photo gallery, map, nearby attractions, etc. Select Check Rates to check room rates and availability based on your arrival information.
      3. From the room availability page, enter your desired check in and check out dates, number of adults, children, and select a rate from the drop down. Click the the Check Rates button to display rates for the information you have entered.
      4. If the hotel has available rooms that match your arrival information, a list of room types with nightly rates will display. Be sure to read the room description. Click the Book Room button next to the desired room type to book a room online.
      5. Verify all reservation information is correct, and make any necessary changes. If you would like to add another room to your reservation, click on the Add Another Room link.
      6. Fill in all required fields on the Personal Information form. Once complete, click the Make Reservation button, then please wait for a reply. You will receive a confirmation number within one (1) minute. Please make a record of the confirmation number in case you need to make any changes to your reservation in the future. You will receive an email confirmation within five (5) minutes if you provided an email address when filling in your personal information.
  • How do I view or cancel a reservation that I reserved online or directly with the hotel?

    • To view, change or cancel a reservation online, click on "My Reservations" at the top of the page. You can use this form to view reservations made online at choicehotels.com, or made by phone with a Choice Hotels reservations sales representative, as long as you have:

      • Guest Last Name
      • Confirmation number or the credit card number that you used to guarantee the reservation

  • Do I need to give my credit card information when I reserve online? Is it secure?

    • Yes, your credit card is required to guarantee your room. When you reserve your room with a credit card, the room is held for you regardless of your arrival time. This means the hotel is required to hold your room for you until 7AM the morning following your date of arrival.

      Your credit card is not charged for your stay prior to your arrival unless the hotel has a prepayment or deposit requirement. Prepayment and deposit requirements are displayed for hotels during the CONFIRMATION process. A warning will display if the hotel requires a deposit or prepayment.

  • How do I book the Pre-paid Advance Purchase rate?

  • What happens to my credit card information when I reserve online? Is it secure?

    • Yes! Choice Hotels International's online reservations system is secure and your guest information (including credit card) will be encrypted as it passes over the internet.

      You will be switched to our secure server when personal information such as guest data or credit card numbers need to be transmitted. You can tell you are on our secure server when the address begins with "https" rather than "http". Also, a lock will display at the bottom of your browser window notifying you that the page is secure. For more information please see our Privacy & Security Policy page.

  • What discounts are available on choicehotels.com?

    • Choice Hotels currently offers the following discounts on our website.

      • Senior Rate  - If you are 60+ or an AARP member, you'll save up to 10%.
      • AAA/CAA Program - Members of the American Automobile Association and the Canadian Automobile Association are eligible for a 10% discount at all Choice Hotels.
      • State Government Rate -  Local, county and state employees qualify for the (LSTATE) State Government rate program when traveling on official business. City, County or State Government ID is required at check in.

      Note: Hotel front desk personnel may require proof of eligibility at the time of check-in. Discounts cannot be combined and are non-transferable. Discount programs may vary outside the United States.

  • What happens if my plans change and I forget to change or cancel my reservations? Will I be charged?

    • Since you guaranteed your room for arrival using your credit card, you will be billed a minimum of one night's stay if you do not cancel your reservation prior to the cancellation deadline. Since cancellation policies vary from hotel to hotel, you may have additional liabilities. Please be sure to note the cancellation policy when making reservations online. This information is originally displayed once you have selected a room to reserve and will also be included once your reservation has been confirmed.

  • How old do I have to be to reserve a room?

    • It depends. If there is only one guest in a room, most hotels require you to be a minimum of 19 years of age. However, some Choice hotels require you to be age 21 or older (this information can be found in the "Hotel Details" section on the hotels home page within choicehotels.com). When a reservation is for two or more guests, at least one occupant must be 21 years of age or older if any other occupant staying in that room is age 18 or under.  If there is any question about an age restriction it is suggested you call the hotel directly.

  • How do I find more information about a specific hotel?

    • This information is available from each hotel's "eBrochure" page.  From choicehotels.com, enter the city name. Choosing a state and/or country is optional; click the "Find Hotels" button. From the search results page choose a location and click on the hotel name.

  • How do I find out what kind of accommodations a specific hotel has for the physically challenged?

    • Choice Hotels brand franchises are required to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If there is not specific information listed on the Room Availability page for the physically challenged, please contact the hotel directly to obtain information regarding their accommodations.

  • If I am a member of a sports organization that Choice has a partnership with and I use my member discount code when making a reservation, does my Choice Privileges number still apply to the reservation?

    • Yes, both can be used in conjunction with one another.

  • Will the rate I receive online be the same as booking with the hotel directly or can I get a better rate working with the hotel direct?

    • The best available rate and certain special rate programs offered online are the same as those offered at the property.  However, if you are a member of one of our sports partners’ organizations, you will need to book online or by calling the Choice Sports Desk at 877.240.AWAY (2929) and provide your discount code for you to receive the discount off of the best available rate.  For groups needing ten or more rooms, please use our Group Reservations Online Request Form.  A member of the Group Reservations team will email or call you with availability and rates.

       

  • If I submit a group block request via the Sports Reservations Online Request Form, when will I receive a reply with room night options?
