Its collection includes reconstructed buildings, period furnishings, decorative art objects, clothing and domestic textiles, industrial machinery, craft tools and farming equipment. The open-air living history museum recreates life in Wichita and Sedgwick County, Kansas between 1865 and 1880. There's also an archive of photographs, letters and documents and a collection of livestock - breeds of cow, pig and chicken that were found on the typical 1880s farm.
