If you're driving from London, take the A2, then the M2. Canterbury is signposted all the way. The city center is closed to cars, but it's only a short walk from several parking areas to the cathedral.

Visitor Information -- A few doors from St. Margaret's Church, the Canterbury Tourist Information Centre, 12-13 Sun St., Canterbury CT1 2HX (tel. 01227/378100), is open daily from 9:30am to 5pm April to October and from 10am to 4pm November to March.

Getting Around by Bike -- For a £50 ($95) deposit, you can also arrange rentals at Downland Cycle Hire, West Railway Station (tel. 01227/479643), which charges from £12 ($23) per day.
