Boat Tours You can tour Hamburg by water, on both the Inner and the Outer Alster, experiencing all the charm of the Alsterpark, the villas, and the sailing boats set against the panorama of towers and church spires. ATG-Alster-Touristik, Am Anleger Jungfernstieg (tel. 040/3574240), has daily departures about every 30 minutes from 10am to 6pm, with trips lasting 50 minutes. November to March, tours depart daily at 10:30am, noon, 1:30, and 3pm. The ships leave from the Jungfernstieg quayside (U-Bahn: Jungfernstieg). Cassettes with a description of the tour in English and a brochure in four languages (including English) are available from the captain. Trips cost 10€ ($13) for adults and 5€ ($6.50) for children under 16. HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG, Bei den St. Pauli, Fischmarkt 28 (tel. 040/3117070), also conducts tours through the watery channels of Hamburg, in a comfortable heated pleasure boat. Tours are conducted in both German and English. They depart at hourly intervals every day April to October, 9am to 6pm; November to March, 10:30am to 3:30pm.
