Getting There -- Montpelier is accessible via Exit 8 off I-89. For Barre, take Exit 7. Waterbury is located at Exit 10 off I-89. For bus service to Montpelier, contact Vermont Transit (tel. 800/451-3292 or 802/223-7112).

For bus service to Waterbury, call Vermont Transit (tel. 802/244-6943); for train service to Waterbury, contact Amtrak (tel. 800/872-7245), whose Vermonter makes daily departures from New York.

Visitor Information -- The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce (tel. 802/229-5711) is on Stewart Road off Exit 7 of I-89. Turn left at the first light; it's a half-mile further on the left. The chamber is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

The Waterbury Tourism Council (tel. 802/244-7822) operates a small, unstaffed booth stocked with helpful brochures on Route 100 just north of I-89. It's open daily from 7am to 10pm.
