|  |  The Great New York State FairEvery summer nearly a million people pass through the gates of the Empire State Expo Center to visit the Great New York State Fair. The 12-day event celebrates New York State's agriculture, industry, technology and entertainment.Over 200 acres of exhibits, animals, food and other attractions are on display. Visitors can watch a chainsaw artist in action, see a butter sculpture, witness cooking demonstrations, enjoy a lumberjack show and native Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Indian) dancing.
The fair is an education in itself - there are exhibits teaching about electricity and the many natural wonders in New York's lakes, streams and forests. In fact, you can find out everything you want to know about the Empire State right here.
