Juneteenth, the anniversary of the ending of slavery in Galveston, Texas, is celebrated on 19 June all over America. Cincinnati stages a weekend of celebrations in Eden Park, overlooking downtown Cincinnati and the Ohio River.
Traditional African dancing, historical re-enactments and magic shows take place alongside live blues, jazz and gospel music. Kids are given a special area where they can enjoy face painting, games and other arts and crafts.
