| | The Great Japan Beer Festival - YokohamaIt's not all sake in Japan - beer is taken very seriously too. You might have to line your stomach for this festival, which is held at Osanbashi Hall at Yokohama International Passenger Terminal. This is a great chance to sample more than 80 different craft beers from both local and international brewers. For the modest entrance fee you can sample any beer on display - but only 50cc worth! Be one of the first to try the winner of the Japan Beer Cup, which is also available for tasting.
Founded and organised by Japan Craft Beer Association and NPO BeerTaster Organisation, the event began in 1998 and has been held every year since. More than 30,000 people attend.
There are three Japanese "beer towns"; Osaka and Tokyo, as well as Yokohama, all host beer festivals every year. |
