| | The Shoot Out Boulder - 24-Hour Film-Making FestivalHollywood may take years to create a film, but Shoot Out throws down the gauntlet with a challenge to make one in 24 hours. Originally an Australian event, this stateside version is held in the rugged beauty of Boulder.Participants are given a brief with something like 11 items, of which at least five must appear in the film - including one within the first 30 seconds, and one each of phrase, location and prop. At the Sunday-lunchtime screening, a plethora of awards are handed out.
All that needs to be done is to repeat the organisers' exhortation: "Your mission is, in 24 hours, to make seven minutes count. Time is the enemy and imagination your only weapon. It's for film-makers with guts!" |
