| | Paul WellerInfluential and enduring British singer-songwriter Paul Weller is on tour in the UK on the back of his latest album, 22 Dreams. This date takes him to the University of East Anglia in Norwich.Former frontman of the much loved British groups The Jam and The Style Council, Weller enjoyed a string of UK hit singles with those bands stretching from 1977 until the late Eighties.
After releasing his debut eponymous solo album in 1992, Weller's songwriting matured over the following years. Wild Wood (1994) and Stanley Road (1995) received critical acclaim for their rootsy sound and sold well in the UK. Press claims that he was the "Modfather" of the then-thriving Britpop scene followed.
Subsequent albums pleased long-standing fans with rock-out surgers and mid-tempo ballads, while, As Is Now, from 2005, featured a full-on guitar vibe. |
