|  |  Camp Sunshine Pumpkin FestivalsThe Pumpkin Festival is the American North-East's very own homage to Halloween. Head to a number of cities every October to spend time carving jack-o'-lanterns, then watch as the candles are lit at nightfall, creating a breathtakingly spooky orange glow.In 2006 the festival broke the world record for the greatest number of simultaneously lit pumpkins, 30,128 to be precise. Other activities include a whoopee pie eating contest, live music and Halloween Spooktacular shows.
Carve away in the knowledge that it's all for charity - all proceeds go to Maine's Camp Sunshine charity for children with terminal illness, so every little pumpkin helps. |
