|  | Australian Festival of Chamber MusicTownsville's Australian Festival of Chamber Music brings together a fine array of national and international artists. From the indigenous music opening gala to the Festival Farwell at the Civic Theatre, the programme is packed with talented musicians and elegant settings.For 2009, Australian composer Andrew Ford is composer-in-residence and pianist Piers Lane hosts the festival series, "Concert Conversations with Piers Lane", with an array of guest stars that include cellist Zuill Bailey and flautist Kathryn Stott.
For atmospheric performances, the Churches & Cathedrals series boasts a programme of small ensembles and soloists (check out Bach By Candlelight on 5 August).
