|  |  Aalborg CarnivalAalborg plays host to a massive carnival parade each May. Around 25,000 people participate and more than 100,000 join in along the route. The big street party has been going strong since 1982.One highlight is the Battle of Carnival Bands. Selected groups from around the world parade through the centre of Aalborg and then hit Kildeparken, where they perform on stage in front of four judges. The grand finale, featuring the top five groups from Friday's contest, takes place in Kildeparken after the Grand Parade.
Children have their own version of the parade on the Sunday, with "Masquerade" as this year's theme. |
