| | Celtic Classic Highland Games and FestivalThe largest Celtic Heritage festival in North America, the Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival takes place in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and attracts around 250,000 visitors every year."Celtic Heritage" is a combination of Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Cornish and Breton cultures. As one would expect, this makes for a rich combination of events. In addition to Celtic music and demonstrations, visitors can watch Highland athletes from around the globe compete in traditional sporting events such as the Braemar stone throw and caber toss. These classic events - where bales of hay and big wooden poles are tossed into the air - were originally created to test the strength and skill of clan warriors during peacetime. |
