|  |  St Paul Winter CarnivalThe St Paul Winter Carnival dates back to 1886 and, after more than 120 years of practice, the locals of St Paul, Minnesota know how to make the best of the white stuff. Highlights include the Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Championship.Snow and ice sculpture looms large at St Paul Winter Carnival, as teams compete to produce the most beautiful figures with 20 blocks of ice and 48 hours to carve them. The Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Championship also takes place during the St Paul Winter Carnival in Como Park, and there is even an ice maze.
The St Paul Winter Carnival begins with the coronation of King Boreas and the Queen of the Snows and culminates with a torchlight parade in downtown St Paul, Minneapolis. |
