The Norwegian Festival of Literature at Lillehammer is one of the largest in Scandinavia. This annual non-commercial celebration of literary endeavour is designed to address topical questions through seminars and public debates that are open to wide audiences.
The festival has an annual theme, which in 2010 is Breakaway. A dichotomy that can result in both loneliness and liberty, authors this year question all aspects of the subject, while a comprehensive programme of supplementary readings, discussions and lectures ensure that Lillehammer becomes a hotbed for intellectual debate during the event.
