| | White Water Rafting on the Bow RiverThis trip offers a thrilling introduction to white water fun and adventure. Approximately 12km (7mi) of the Bow River are rafted through Class I-III rapids (gentle to intermediate) and fast-moving water with ripples. This is a paddle trip, which means that everyone can join in the fun and excitement of participation.
Total river time is about an hour and 40 minutes on the water. The first part of the trip consists mostly of rapids and slalom, the second portion of the trip is mostly moving water with ripples, great for seeing the local wildlife.
Prior to the trip departure a safety orientation lesson is given: each item of river safety is covered, river rescue is demonstrated and each participant is checked for proper equipment and that it is secured correctly.
Necessary river gear and safety/rescue equipment includes whitewater lifejackets & rafting helmets, commercial self-bailing rafts, one professional river guide per raft (usually eight or nine passengers), neoprene Farmer John wetsuits, river shoes and paddling jacket, round trip transportation and post trip beverages.
