|  | Yorkton Short Film and Video FestivalThe Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival is the longest-running film festival in North America and takes place each year at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.Competitors enter a production into one of a variety of genre categories or one of four International categories. Awards are presented for nine different crafts and there are also speciality and cash prizes.
In recent years, the festival has been visited by renowned Canadians Bruno Gerusi, Gordon Pinsent and Garry Morse. Awards have been given to Cordell Barker and Frederic Bach, both of whom went on to receive Oscars for their work.
This year's festival features Revisiting Great Brittain, with screenings and talks about the work and life of Canada's most renowned documentary maker, Donald Brittain. Please visit the festival website for full details of the schedule. |
