|  |  Roxy Pro AustraliaWith a total of US$90,000 at stake, the Roxy Pro Australia kicks off the women's ASP World Championship Tour, bringing top female surfers to Queensland's Gold Coast, centred on Snapper Rocks, just south of Surfers Paradise.Competitive surfing is organised by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) along a two-tier system. The highest level is the World Championship Tour (WCT), where the top 44 men and 18 women compete for the crown of World Champion throughout the year.
It's no wonder that surfers from all over the world are attracted to the Gold Coast. At night the area comes to life with nightclubs, restaurants and cabaret shows, complementing the top-class action during the day.
