Rouen's Festival du Cinéma Nordique celebrates the best of the region's output, with many surprises in tow.In presenting films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Baltic Countries, Holland and Belgium, the Festival of Nordic Cinema in Rouen is arguably screening Europe's best contemporary cinema.
As well as the tributes and the discussions, close to a dozen films, unreleased in France, are up against each other in the official selection. As is expected from Northern European cinema, these should push the envelope and, as is usually the case, become lesser remakes in Hollywood in a couple of years' time. |
