The indoor Minneapolis Farmers' Market is the place for locals to find fresh produce and locally-produced products at fair prices. It offers a mammoth range of foods, flowers and arts and crafts.
The market opened in 1876 as an outdoor affair but after an itinerant history in its early decades, action by market gardeners forced the building of an indoor market, which opened in 1938. Today there are about 240 vendors alternating the use of 170 stalls, making mornings a shopper's paradise.
