San Antonio's Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony takes place each year at the city's River Walk, attracting over 150,000 people along the route. A parade featuring decorated floats, bands and costumed participants follows the lighting ceremony.
The Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony begins when the Mayor pulls the switch to illuminate thousands of twinkling lights decorating the trees along the river. After the big opening, the lights remain lit until 1 January.
