Horizon Air (tel. 800/547-9308) offers service from Seattle. WestJet (tel. 888/937-8538) operates flights from Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, and Edmonton. Greyhound Canada (tel. 800/661-8747) travels between Vancouver and Kelowna daily. The adult fare is C$62 (US$50). Three buses per day continue on to Calgary. The Coquihalla Highway (Hwy. 5) links Kelowna and the Okanagan to the Vancouver area. The 395km (245-mile) drive from Vancouver takes 4 hours. Special Events--Kelowna gets its busy summer festival season off to a bang with the Knox Mountain Hill Climb (tel. 250/861-1990), held for nearly half a century on the second-to-last weekend in May. This motor-sport race involves both cars and motorcycles, and is the longest hill-climb race in North America.
