Planning a Trip
Getting There -- Trains run frequently from Paris, Lyon, and Toulouse, plus many regional towns. Twelve trains per day arrive from Paris from either Montparnasse or Gare d'Austerlitz (trip time: 4-6 hr.; one-way fare: 76€/$99); 12 trains from Bordeaux (trip time: 1 1/2 hr.; one-way fare: 18€/$23); 2 trains from Lyon (trip time: 6-8 hr.; one-way fare: 50€-80€/$65-$104); and 8 from Toulouse (trip time: 4 hr.; one-way fare: 37€/$48). For train information, call tel. 08-92-35-35-35. There is no bus service. From Paris, take A10 south to Orléans, and then A71 south to Vierzon. Continue along A20 south to Limoges, and then pick up N21 south to Périgueux.
