Getting There

The Sequim-Dungeness Valley lies to the north of U.S. 101 between Port Townsend and Port Angeles. Jefferson Transit (tel. 800/371-0497 or 360/385-4777) has service from Port Townsend to Sequim, and Clallam Transit (tel. 800/858-3747 or 360/452-4511) operates west from Sequim and around the peninsula to Lake Crescent, Clallam Bay, La Push, and Forks.

Festivals

The Irrigation Festival (tel. 800/737-8462 or 360/683-6197), the oldest continuous festival in Washington, has been going on for more than 110 years and takes place in early May. In mid-July, when the lavender gardens are in full bloom, the town observes the season with its Sequim Lavender Festival (tel. 877/681-3035 or 360/681-3035).
