Getting There -- Casper's Natrona County International Airport, 8500 Airport Pkwy. (tel. 307/472-6688), 12 miles northwest of Casper on U.S. 20/26, has daily flights from Delta (tel. 800/221-1212), Northwest (tel. 800/225-2525), and United (tel. 800/241-6522).

To reach Casper from Sheridan, drive 153 miles south on I-25. From Cheyenne, take I-25 north for 178 miles. From Jackson, take U.S. 191 to the Moran Junction, then drive 255 miles east on U.S. 26/287.

Special Events -- Casper draws its largest crowds during the 5-day Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, which takes place each summer in mid-July. Call tel. 307/235-5775 for details. On the third weekend of July each year, the Beartrap Summer Festival (tel. 307/266-5252) takes place on top of Casper Mountain, with blues and bluegrass musicians plus the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra.
