Established in 1918, Fort Bragg Army base is named after native North Carolinian General Braxton Bragg, a veteran of the Civil War. Fort Bragg is home to the 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum, featuring more than 4,000 artifacts, aircrafts, a gift shop and a theater.
