| Things To Do: Winter Festival of Lights13 Nov 2009 - 3 Jan 2010 (annual)The Winter Festival of Lights at Oglebay Resort claims to be America's largest light show. Every year animated displays illuminate 300 acres of a six-mile drive. Perennial favourites include the animated Snowflake Tunnel and Polyhedron Star. First held in 1985, renowned landscape lighting expert Dick Bosch, and the late Robert J Otten, Wheeling Park Commission's long-time creative director, were the masterminds behind the dazzling Winter Festival of Lights.
Keeping up with current developments and attitudes, the Winter Festival of Lights went green as of 2008, with the use of environmentally friendly LED lights. |
