| Things To Do:  Wildlights20 Nov 2009 - 2 Jan 2010 (annual)Wildlights is Columbus Zoo's annual celebration of winter. Every evening for over a month, the zoo sparkles with more than two million twinkling lights. A wide range of family-led activities, including horse-drawn wagon rides, keeps visitors amused. Daily entertainment includes music and children's activities, while there are themed events on specific dates throughout December. Kwanzaa honours African-American heritage, while Santa Paws is an enriching activity to keep the animals in the holiday spirit with specially-wrapped treats.
Towards the end of December, Wild Ice features an ice show and over 100 animal ice sculptures. Visitors can take a twirl on the zoo's ice skating rink or a magical ride on the fully-restored 1914 Mangels-Illions carousel. Santa Claus himself is available to meet the children and for family snaps.

By Car: take Interstate 70 and follow the 270 to Sawmill Rd (exit 20). Go right into Hard Rd, then right into Riverside Drive. The zoo entrance is 2 miles north on the right.
