| Things To Do: Waterfowl FestivalNov 2010 (annual)Paying homage to the annual migrating Canadian geese, Easton's Waterfowl Festival celebrates everything to do with the waterfowl. The event attracts around 19,000 visitors and 400 wildlife artists and craftsmen annually to show, sell and educate about the waterfowl. At the heart of the festival is a dedication to wildlife conservation, the promotion of wildlife art and the celebration of life on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Over the years, over US$4.4 million has been raised and donated to projects throughout the Chesapeake Bay area.
Local delicacies like oysters, warm crab soup and crabcakes are on offer, as are various demos and tournaments. Clay shooting tournaments and masterclasses on decoy carving are also part of the fun. There is even a world championship goose-calling tournament which is open to the public. |
