| Things To Do: The Game - Yale v HarvardNov 2010 (annual)In the climax of the Ivy League season, Yale Bulldogs host Harvard Crimson at Yale Bowl in New Haven, resuming a deep-rooted rivalry that dates back to 1875. 'The Game' still attracts hoards of students and sport aficionados. In the first quarter of the 20th century, the teams' fortunes were a matter of national sporting interest. More recently the Ivy teams have been outstripped on the field by the teams of other conferences. Indeed, even academic peer Stanford fields a more competitive team when it plays rival California around the same time in the "Big Game".
Nonetheless, the match still promises drama and excitement, fuelled by a festive atmosphere as students head into the week-long Thanksgiving break. |
