Inspired by its ancient surroundings, the 12-day event promotes music that has stood the test of time, with classical chamber music particularly popular.Founded by professional musicians in 1992, the festival has remained true to its aim to marry world-class musical performances with the stunning landscape of the Utah canyons and to bring musical opportunities to the isolated Moab community, particularly its children.
For the duration of the festival, the region's unique character is used to create concert settings unlike those found anywhere else - a pavilion backed by the Colorado River; a tent overshadowed by towering rock monoliths; a natural red-rock amphitheatre; all of these become performance venues during the Moab Music Festival. |
