Ecomotion - Adventure Racing World ChampionshipOct - Nov 2010 (annual)Brazilian and international teams show the extent of their physical prowess by competing in the Ecomotion - Adventure Racing World Championship. This year the adventure takes place across a 700km course around the stunning landscapes of Ceará, Maranhão and Piauí. The Ecomotion - Adventure Racing World Championship across Brazil's north-eastern states is set to be one of the biggest expedition races ever in the country. The highly coveted first prize consists of a generous US$35,000. The seven runners-up also receive cash prizes.
Typically, adventure racing consists of a combination of two or more disciplines, including orienteering and navigation, cross-country running, mountain biking, paddling and climbing and related rope skills. There is usually no set time for resting - competitors of Brazil's Ecomotion - Adventure Racing World Championship choose whether and when they want to rest. |
