|  |  NASCAR at Bristol Motor SpeedwayBristol Motor Speedway hosts races each season during the NEXTEL series of NASCAR races. The oval track can accommodate around 160,000 fans.The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the largest sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States. Of the three race series they sanction, the NEXTEL Cup Series is by far the most popular. Unlike Formula One, races take place on predominantly triangular or oval tracks with banked corners to enable them to be taken at greater speed.
The season is split into two parts - first a 26-race "regular" season, then a ten-race playoff called "race for the cup". After all 36 races a NEXTEL champion is declared. |

Itinéraire :
From the North: take Virginia Exit 17 off I-81 and turn left on Hwy 75. At the Tennessee border, the road changes to Hwy 44. Continue on this route until the stop sign at US 421. Turn right on 421 and stay on it until the traffic light at Hwy 394. Turn left and proceed to Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway.
From the South: take Tennessee Exit 69 off I-81. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp onto Hwy 394. Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway are located on the left side of Hwy 394.
