Getting There By Plane -- The Trollhättan/Vänersborg airport lies 8km (5 miles) west of the town center. Taxis are the only mode of transport from here. Passengers either drive their own cars or pick up the "Taxi Phone" adjacent to the luggage pickup stand and summon one. The cost of a taxi into the center of Vänersborg is around 140SEK ($19/9.80£). By Train -- Ten trains arrive from Stockholm every day; depending on the train, the trip takes between 3 and 5 hours. Most require you to change trains in Herrlgungå en route.
