You'll do more than just horse around when visiting the only park in the world dedicated to horses, the Kentucky Horse Park. Offering a showcase of museums, galleries, theaters and working farm exhibits, the Kentucky Horse Park also has more than 50 breeds of horses grazing upon its 1,200 acres of pastures. Don't miss the Parade of Breeds, held twice daily, which showcases both common and rare horses. In addition, the Kentucky Horse Park is a retirement home for some of the world's greatest competition horses, including Cigar, John Henry, Forego, Bold Forbes and Da Hoss.

Experience racing as it was meant to be at Keeneland thoroughbred horse racing complex and the Red Mile horse racing track. With its tranquil setting and stone fences, historic Keeneland is one of the most beautiful racetracks in the world. Live thoroughbred racing takes place in April and October at Keeneland. The Red Mile is Lexington's oldest existing racetrack, dating back to 1875. The Red Mile is host to the nation's largest outdoor Saddlebred horse show every summer.

Kentucky's famed Bluegrass Region offers visitors the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway or a family vacation.
