This lush 110-acre haven to more than 2,500 species of native and exotic plants is located in the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District. The garden was established in 1934 and contains 21 specialty gardens. It is open daily and charges only an admission fee for the Conservatory (10,000 square feet of tropical displays of orchids, bromeliads, and trees) and the seven-acre Japanese Garden which was originally established 1970. The Fort Worth Japanese Garden exhibits three koi ponds where you can feed thousands of exotic Imperial Carp, waterfall, bridges, teahouse, pagoda, pavilions and a meditation garden. Other major gardens include the Four Seasons Garden (which has hundreds of iris, daylily and chrysanthemum varieties), the Fragrance Garden (with fragrant plants and a fountain) and the Fuller Garden (its pathways and lawn are ideal for weddings and garden parties). A rose by any other name can probably be found at either the Lower Rose Garden (inspired by Italy’s renowned Villa Lante and accentuated with vista views) and the Oval Rose Garden (renovated in January 2012 and featuring an abundance of Texas-acclimated roses).

Make sure you check out The Texas Native Forest Boardwalk, a living outdoor classroom that purports to stimulate interest in the native forest and to encourage visitors to use what they discover about stewardship and conservation in their own home environment. As a demonstration xeriscape garden, The Water Conservation Garden offers visitors a wealth of native and well-adapted beauties to discover, plants that use little water and are also wildlife and people friendly. After a day of exotic trees, plants and perennials, Choice Hotels near Fort Worth Botanic Garden let you wind down in relaxing accommodations. Book a room with us today.
