Miamisburg is a suburban community located in the Miami Valley. It’s part of the Dayton metro area and a great place for outdoor enthusiasts. The city offers access to a network of jogging and biking trails that span more than 300 miles—stretching through several counties. When visiting the area, you can also spend some time at Riverfront Park, which offers seven acres of green space along the Great Miami River. One of the most famous local landmarks is the Miamisburg Mound. Now surrounded by a park, this prehistoric Native American burial ground is the largest conical mound east of the Mississippi River. The mound stands 65 feet tall and 800 feet in circumference. Steps have been built to the top observation platform, where visitors can enjoy a great view of the area. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
While on your sightseeing journey, you may want to stop and relax at one of our Miamisburg hotels, and once you feel refreshed, you can make your way downtown to see beautiful examples of Victorian architecture! There are a variety of Victorian homes and other buildings. Baum Opera House is a historic concert venue. It was built by Charles Baum in 1884 and originally named the Star City Opera House. Since that time, the building has had many uses; and today it serves as a meeting and reception hall. The Daniel Gebhart Tavern is another historic site. Once used as a meeting place, it’s now a museum that showcases the area’s history.
