Known as “Dinosaur Valley,” the Red Deer River and Drumheller are home to a number of paleontological excavations learning centers like the Royal Tyrell Museum, featuring one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the world. In addition to awe-inspiring dinosaur skeletons, the museum also features a number of fun exhibits specifically to teach and entertain children.

Fun things to do in Drumheller include snapping a pic with its most famous resident, the World’s Largest Dinosaur, an 86ft tall T-Rex statue that you can actually climb for a pterodactyl’s eye view of the city.

Located along the banks of the Red Deer River, Drumheller boasts a number of beautiful areas along the water, including nearby New Castle Beach. The badlands surrounding town are also famous for a variety of unique rock formations.
