SWEET MUSIC IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Originally built to house the National Symphony Orchestra, the Merriweather Post Pavilion was designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry. The natural outdoor setting provides a truly unique concert experience, with a state-of-the-art sound system and large video screens. With a capacity of 19,319, the pavilion features an enormous kitchen, a Music Pinball Arcade, award-winning sculptures and more. Singer Jack Johnson inspired the Merriweather to be even more environmentally friendly by installing solar panels to power the house lights, starting a composting program, and building new structures using LEED standards.
The pavilion has earned accolades from Billboard and Rolling Stone magazines as one of the top amphitheaters in the U.S., as well as a ranking of 29 out of the top 100 music venues in the nation, according to Consequence of Sound. If you’re planning to catch a show here, you should be sure to book at stay at one of the Merriweather Post Pavilion hotels.
