Named after the explorers George Bass and Matthew Flinders, who charted the coastline of Tasmania in the early 19th century, the museum houses one of Tasmania’s most diverse collections of maritime artefacts and exhibits, including original whale boats and a replica of Bass and Flinders’ ship, the Norfolk.
George Town Watchhouse

Between March and October you may see as many as 100 penguins return to their burrows along the coastal reserve.
