Originally incorporated as “City of St. Petersburg Beach” in 1957, this scenic community was created with the consolidation of the towns of Pass-a-Grille, Don CeSar, Belle Vista, St. Petersburg Beach and unincorporated Pinellas County. As there was then some ensuing confusion with the City of St. Petersburg, which is located on the mainland to the east, the citizens voted to shorten the name to “St. Pete Beach” in 1994. With year-round fantastic weather, attractions, entertainment and just a short, 30-mile drive to both St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and Tampa International Airport, St. Pete Beach is a top tourist destination.
