The field – named after the franchise owner Ted Turner – was built just south of the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in 1996. This $320-million Olympic complex was retrofitted into a natural-grass, open-air, baseball-only stadium. The ballpark was the third stadium in history to have played host to the Summer Olympics before being transformed into a Major League stadium. The old complex, the Atlanta-Fulton County, was foundered in 1997 and converted into parking structure for the current establishment. Check out Hank Aaron’s 715th home-run ball, the 1995 World Series Trophy and a life-size train car at the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame. Eat extra-long hot dogs, boiled peanuts or funnel cake from the concession stands. See the Heavy Hitters perform during their pregame concert in the field’s plaza. Receive military, college and AAA ticket discounts.
Don’t forget to check out Atlanta’s Olympic cauldron nearby. There are approximately 1,200 parking spaces offered to the general public west of I-75/85 and another 800 spaces available in the orange lot, which is located on the corner of Fulton and Hank Aaron Drive.
