The Mazza Museum (also known as the Mazza Gallery Findlay) is the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to picture book illustrations. It houses more than 8,000 original illustrations from some of the world's top illustrators and artists. Summer visitors can take part in a number of activities, including workshops, auctions and art camps.
The Swing Time Sports Center is a more active destination, where visitors can enjoy both miniature golf and a full-size 18-hole golf course. There are also batting cages available. After a relaxing breakfast, head to the Hancock Museum. Although the museum was originally devoted solely to natural history, it now also houses exhibits on Ancient Egypt and Rome, a planetarium, a geology section and a massive "Ice Age to Iron Age" display.
The early 19th-century Little Red School House is a one-room schoolhouse that has been restored to its original glory. Inside, kids can try out traditional uniforms. Visitors can also sit at restored desks and pretend to be back in school. Litzenberg Park, also known as Litzenberg Memorial Woods, offers 110 acres of forest you can explore, hike or use for a picnic adventure. There is also an 1847 homestead and a period garden within the park, as well as costumed guides to help the park come to life. Do not miss the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation. Not only will you find locomotives on display, but it also offers themed train rides for visitors of all ages, including a Train of Terror Halloween ride and the North Pole Express in wintertime.
