Begin your trip to Frederick by visiting the Museum of Frederick County History. Exhibits will guide you through the history of the region from colonial times to the present, including the Civil War. The traditions of Frederick County are preserved at the Rose Hill Manor Park & Children's Museum. Hands-on exhibits allow visitors to experience the daily lives of the people who once lived here. Later, head downtown for the Taste Frederick's food tasting walking tour. It is a great way to enjoy cuisine from many of the local restaurants.
When it is time to take a break, unwind at Baker Park. There you will find a number of children's playgrounds, a public swimming pool, tennis courts and baseball fields. Remember to visit Schifferstadt, the oldest building in the city. Built in the 1750s by Josef Brunner, an immigrant farmer, much of this stone house remains original. And when the sun sets, join Candlelight Ghosts Tours of Frederick for a 90-minute guided excursion of the city's "haunted" streets and alleys.
