This city was named after Moses Warren, the surveyor of the Connecticut Land Company in the early 1800s. Another National Register Landmark, the home of Harriet Taylor Upton which was the headquarters of the National American Woman Suffrage Association when she was the treasurer starting in 1903. The house is maintained by an association and houses a small suffrage museum.
