Econo Lodge Temple
Overview
An easy stop on the road near the airport
Temple, known as the “Wildflower Capital of Texas,” is 34 miles south of Waco and 65 miles north of Austin. It’s also a half-hour’s drive to Fort Hood in Killeen. Founded as a railroad town, the city’s history is reflected in exhibits at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum. Housed in the historic Santa Fe Depot, the museum illustrates what it was like to work and travel on the railroad. There’s an active Amtrak yard there and an outside exhibit of historic railroad equipment. Nearby are the Santa Fe Gardens and Whistle Stop Playground. When you return to the hotel, enjoy a swim in our outdoor pool or pick up necessities at the handy convenience store.
